No combustion
Fuel and air stay on opposite sides of the cell. Only oxygen ions cross the electrolyte between them, so nothing burns, nothing spins, and the cell runs quietly.
Efficient and fuel flexible
Fuel flows across one side of the cell and air across the other. Oxygen ions cross the electrolyte in between and react with the fuel to produce electricity. Natural gas, biogas, or hydrogen all work, and nothing burns.
