With decades of building a foundation in solid oxide technology, Bloom Energy developed the Bloom Electrolyzer . It is one of the most efficient and cost- effective (lowest commercially available levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) solutions for hydrogen production. Bloom has constructed one of the largest cell and stack manufacturing facilities in the world, capable of producing over 2 GW of electrolyzers annually.
The Bloom Electrolyzer was confirmed as the most efficient commercial-scale electrolyzer in the world, able to produce the most hydrogen from the least amount of electricity, by the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), an R&D lab under the United States Department of Energy (DOE), in August 2022. Through this demonstration, Bloom transformed the standard for electrolysis by achieving a record-breaking efficiency. This is significant because electricity accounts for the largest portion of the cost of hydrogen production through electrolysis.
